Mistakes tell us we’re learning.  It may not be fun to feel like we’re messing up, but it’s an important process to help us grow and change.  Remember change is uncomfortable and pushes us out of our comfort zone.  As I mentioned in last months article we are one giant experiment.  Every time we try something new our body will give us feedback.  Figuring out what that feedback means can be frustrating but it’s definitely “figureoutable”.

On this journey called life we will have many ups and downs, not just with our health and fitness journey, but in all aspects.  And honestly it’s the whole picture that affects what we are putting in our mouths, how we’re treating our bodies, and our outlook on life.  We need to make sure that we understand that mistakes are going to happen, it’s inevitable, but how we deal with them is what will make or break us.  You over ate at the last meal you had, so do you punish yourself with feeling guilt and remorse the rest of the day while contemplating whether you should skip the next meal OR do you check in with yourself, really look at what was going on during that last meal.  Was it rushed? Were you feeling emotional about something? Was it food that is hard for you to control yourself with, i.e. Red Light Foods.  These are questions that have valuable feedback for you to learn.  Taking time to ask and answer these questions is huge!! It’s one of the best ways to keep moving forward on this journey.  By the way this all pertains to working out also.

Mistakes are proof that we are trying!  How we handle our mistakes is up to us.  We can let them tear us down and hold us back or we can choose to learn from them.  Recognizing and learning from your mistakes is what makes you stronger!
