My Top 3 Tips To A Healthier You

My first tip is to eat slowly at every meal. This one is the hardest one, even for me. Best strategy to start with is to try to make sure that you put your fork down in between bites. Just try to really chew the bite and swallow it before you pick up your fork again, that will help you slow down. No need to have a timer, or worrying about how long you’ve been eating. Whatever utensil you’re using, try to put it down between bites to help with eating slowly.

The second tip is to eat lean protein at every meal. A serving of lean protein is the size and thickness of your palm. Everywhere you go you have a handy measurement tool to figure out how much protein you need to eat. You can choose your favorite cuts of lean meat, or any kind of plant-based protein that you like, just try to make sure it’s nice and lean. Salmon, chicken breasts, some cuts of beef are a few examples of lean protein options.

My third tip is to get in five servings of colorful veggies every day. A serving of veggies is the size of your fist, another handy tool. The easiest way to do that is to make sure that you’re eating veggies with every meal. I like to try to aim for a serving at breakfast whether it’s in an omelet or a smoothie. Lunch could be as simple as adding a side salad. Dinner would be any of your favorite veggies! If you go above five servings, great!

Applying these 3 tips may not be the easiest, but it’s definitely not the hardest thing to do, plus you get to pick what you eat. No one’s telling you what you can or can’t eat, you get to decide.
